Redsail 18 features and design
Frame
● The two-stringer design is fully reliable and functional.● The catamaran is made of corrosion-resistant aluminium designed for use in the marine environment.● The frame has been tested by daily use, racing and travelling around the seas from the Adriatic to the White Sea without any malfunctions.● Unmatched stability of the catamaran is achieved by spreading the axis of the floats as wide as possible, making the catamaran as spacious as possible.
Deck (trampoline)
● The deck is made of PVC1100, which ensures maximum durability and reliability.● The deck area is 6.5 square meters.
Centreboard and Rudder
● The centreboard and rudder are exceptionally reliable in operation under any conditions. They are made of duralumin, reliably protected from corrosion and formed into the aerodynamic profile NASA0012. The centreboard and rudders made using this technology are superior to wooden and fibreglass counterparts in terms of reliability and durability.● The design of the centreboard and rudders allows them to be set in partial submergence mode. This makes it possible to manoeuvre confidently in shallow water when mooring or departing from the shore, passing through shallows, and in cases of plant growth in waters.● The centreboard and rudder have a damping system to avoid damage when hitting obstacles such as shoals, rocks or other objects in the water.● Stainless steel cleats guarantee long-lasting and reliable operation.● Clamcleats ensure reliable hoist operation for setting and lifting the centreboard. The arrangement allows the helmsman to sail the catamaran alone without involving passengers in the steering.● The centreboard lifting mechanism is a powerful polyspring system that allows you to adjust the position of the centreboard without unnecessary effort comfortably.
Standing rigging
● We use only high-quality parts that have been tested for long-term use.
● Our cleats and blocks are compatible with the products of leading manufacturers, so you can order them or upgrade later according to your preferences (Harken, Viadana, etc.).
Running rigging

Floats
● Two-section floats made of Boatex PVC 800 g/m.● Designed for a derivative load of 450 kg, they provide high clearance and a dry deck.● Floats with stem allow you to reduce the tacking angle and add stability. At the same time, we have not reduced the bow of the floats, which allows you to pass waves confidently, preventing "sticking" into the water.
Sails
● Sails, a 7,7-meter mainsail and a 2-meter jib are made of dacron. The author's design of the mainsail by Volodymyr Topchanyuk's workshop shows the impressive efficiency of the upper part of the sail.● The standard sail area is selected considering factors such as safety in strong winds, the ability to be steered by one person, and good sailing performance even in light winds.● Two riffs are provided for confident handling under challenging conditions. This allows you to teach beginners safely in different weather conditions and confidently steer the catamaran in harsh wind and wave conditions.
Mast
● The pivoting mast consists of 4 sections, has jumper struts with jumper stays and is made of durable 6082 aluminium alloy.
● The boom height prevents injuries in case of unexpected boom transitions while gybing.
● Of course, with a strong desire, you can break everything, but we have no single case of a broken mast.
● Sail Entry Feeder makes it easy to set the mainsail singlehand.
Engine
● A catamaran equipped with a transom can use an engine of up to 4 hp, which allows you to move both in a calm and in a strong wind when manoeuvring under sail is difficult;● With a 4 hp engine, the catamaran can reach a speed of up to 10 knots.
